We are pleased to announce the Return to Rugby 15’s Tourney hosted by Newport Rugby on August 14 at Fort Adams State Park in Newport RI. This will be the first 15s tournament put on by NERFU since the 2020 and 2021 NERFU Cups were cancelled due to COVID-19.
“We’ve all missed the #NERFUCup and look forward to returning it to its full glory, but this year we’ll be having a one-day event, looking for FULL participation from clubs – understanding that many programs are just getting back going. Numbers and scheduling this late in the game will be tough for a lot of clubs, but we encourage those interested but concerned about anything to reach out to their division directors with any concerns – if we work together, we can make this a great kickoff for the Fall season!” says NERFU President Brad Dufesne.
This year, NERFU and Newport Rugby have worked to add to the festival atmosphere and the event will feature guests from Ragged Island Brewing Company serving their craft beer at the fields. A musical guest (DJ or live band) will be firmed up and announced soon as well.
