The NERFU Cup is New England’s biggest weekend in grassroots rugby—a high-energy clash of clubs from across the region, all chasing pride, glory, and bragging rights. Held every spring, it’s more than just a tournament; it’s a celebration of the sport’s grit, tradition, and tight-knit community. From the first whistle to the final social, the NERFU Cup captures what rugby is all about: fierce competition, unmatched camaraderie, and a whole lot of fun. Fans, players, and longtime supporters all converge for two days of action that leave lasting memories and a few well-earned bruises. This is rugby, New England style.
Parking is STRICTLY prohibited on roads and neighborhoods in/around Fort Adams State Park.
The neighborhood association is on the lookout and tow trucks will be called. Please only park in the designated Fort Adams State Park parking lot located here. Parking is limited, so we strongly encourage teams carpool.
Island Rugby will be hosting a co-ed 7th/8th grade 7s scrimmage on Field 2 at noon on Sunday! Please come out to spectate and cheer on the future players of rugby in New England!
Join us in returning to O’Brien’s Saturday evening for a traditional NERFU Cup party! Expect a DJ or band this year. Costumes are highly encouraged as per usual. We’ll also have tickets for pitchers of free beer for each team, send a coach or captain to pick up from NERFU staff while at the tournament.
