Amoskeag Rugby Club

Men’s Head Coach

About the role

Amoskeag Men’s Rugby Team is looking for a head coach to lead us into the 2024 Fall Season and beyond.  Amoskeag Rugby is entering it’s 40th Anniversary season and is the flagship club for Rugby in New Hampshire.  Amoskeag historically played in the higher divisions of NERFU, but has dropped to Division 3 in the past few years.  The club won that Division in 2019, but has had three underwhelming seasons since the COVID pandemic.  We are looking for a Head Coach to return the program to it’s previous wining ways and help build sustainable success by developing our younger talent, as well as best utilizing our veteran players to play winning rugby.  The club is in a strong financial and organizational position to allow a coach to focus on coaching without administrative responsibilities.  There is also an assistant coach’s stipend in the budget.  In the past few years the club has formed strategic partnerships to allow us to post consistent and impressive fundraising numbers, as well as with indoor facilities to train in during the winter months, and finally with a local college’s men’s team.  The club has previously hosted international players and had one come over last year, so we are also looking to build on this and expand our ability to do so with more regularity.  We would like a coach to help utilize our existing on field talent and develop our younger players to achieve their full potential as rugby players in order to shape a winning team and culture.

Expectations:  Coach must be able to commit to plan and attend two practices a week and Saturday game days during Spring and Fall Seasons.  Should be a Level 200 Qualified Coach or able to obtain necessary USA Rugby certifications.

Compensation:  Board has allocated funds for Head Coach and Assistant Coach Stipends.
